SENSES AWAKENING MEDITATION with MARLOU KAMPHUIS

SATURDAY 8.30AM – 9.00AM

This Senses Awakening meditation is designed to enliven the five senses and connect to the here and now, in addition to the usual stress busting and productivity boosting effects that come with Effortless Meditation in general. The signature of this sequence is a scan through the five senses of the body. Ideal for beginners and advanced meditators alike.

INTRO TO EFFORTLESS MEDITATION WORKSHOP with NIKKI JANKS

SATURDAY 9.00AM – 10.00AM

There are many different types of meditation taught both in the East and the West which require anything from an extreme to a moderate degree of concentration and mental control. When learning these types of meditation, practitioners often experience a sense of failure and frustration in not being able to meditate correctly nor experience the true relief and results they are after.

By contrast, at Centred Meditation we teach an Effortless Meditation technique which requires no form of concentration or mental control at all. Practitioners don’t have to “switch their mind off”, “think of nothing”, nor “clear their mind of all thoughts”. What’s more, the Effortless Meditation technique is extremely easy to learn and practice, feels really enjoyable to do, and the benefits in the mind and body are noticed very quickly.

In this Introduction to Effortless Meditation, Nikki will cover:

– The science of stress and its detrimental impacts on our physiology;
– The evidence behind Effortless Meditation and its profound effects on our health and wellbeing;
– How to meditate effortlessly;
– Tips on how to get the most out of your meditation practice.

YOU CAN’T HIDE: YOUR OUTSIDE REFLECTS YOUR INSIDE – MASTERCLASS with ROBERT MEREDITH

We all have patterns of thinking and behaviour, some work well whilst others limit us and sabotage our self-expression.

Our self-limiting patterns arose out of necessity while experiencing intense unpleasant emotions growing up which were suppressed and then locked into muscular holding patterns and thus embodied. An individual’s psychological history is literally written on their body.

In this session, Robert will uncover how all of this plays out in our day-to-day experience and the part our bodies play in determining our internal reality and emotional lives.

The session will be interactive with exercises in which to participate and explore some of what you personally have embodied, how to work with muscular holding patterns and start to release yourself from the grip that limiting mindsets and behaviours have over you.

FROM SMALL TALK TO BIG TALK ON RUOK? DAY DISCUSSION CIRCLE with MEGAN ROSS

SATURDAY 11.45AM – 12.45PM

Since our retreat falls just after RUOK? Day, this session is dedicated to getting real about this BIG topic of mental health. Preventing suicide takes more than just a question on one day every year. It takes a major mindset shift everyday, all year long. How do we create a culture where people feel comfortable talking? A culture of authenticity, trust, and deep understanding. In the workplace, at home, and in our communities. Diss the small talk and join Megan for some big talk on this issue.

HEART EXPANSION MEDITATION with MEGAN ROSS

SATURDAY 1.00PM – 1.30PM

This Heart Expansion meditation is designed to connect you with yourself, others, and the world, in addition to the usual stress busting and productivity boosting effects that come with Effortless Meditation in general. The signature of this sequence is the embodiment of heartfelt emotions (e.g. empathy, compassion, gratitude etc.) that spread out to your environment. Ideal for practitioners with a little more experience, but open for everyone.

DISCOVERING THE MOVEMENT OF BREATH WORKSHOP with PAUL LAM PO-TANG

SATURDAY 3.00PM – 4.00PM

Come along to experience the subtle movement of your breath within the stillness of sitting and lying down, and feel how it affects your mind and mood. We’ll begin and end sitting up and lie down for an extended period in the middle.

What to bring: A yoga mat or beach towel to lie on. A towel or cushion to rest your head. A blanket to keep you warm. Something to sit on – chair, mat or cushion.

RAISING KIDS CONSCIOUSLY WORKSHOP with KEVIN JANKS

SATURDAY 4.30PM – 5.15PM

What does it mean to support the children in our lives in a conscious and mindful way? Join Kevin as he explores principles we can draw on everyday to ensure we give children the very best of us in order to bring out the very best in them. Without compromising on their self-expression, their emotional freedom nor their sense of self-worth.

NATURE IMMERSION MEDITATION with KEVIN JANKS

THE ULTIMATE SELF-CARE RITUAL with AMANDA BAINBRIDGE

SATURDAY 7.15PM – 8.15PM

Where do you hold your tension? Your shoulders? Your back? Your jaw?

Stress may start in the mind, but the physical effects can still be felt in the body long after the moment has passed.

Follow along with Amanda as she shows you how to treat your physical symptoms with the ultimate self-care ritual.

Let yourself rest and recover in the comfort of your own space.

 

MUSIC IMMERSION with DANYAH PRESTON

SATURDAY 8.30PM – 9.15PM

Join Danyah for a deep listening experience in this soundscape meditation. A curation of music that has been created for complete inner nurturing. Danyah will introduce the practice and guide you out. All you need to do is lay back, listen and let the music do the rest.

Headphones recommended. Cushions, bolster and blanket also recommended.

BODY AWARENESS MEDITATION with AMANDA BAINBRIDGE

BREATHING TO THRIVE EXPERIENCE with SHANE BRENNAN

SUNDAY 9.00AM – 10.00AM

During this session, you will explore the dynamic nature of the breath and experience how breathing can quickly influence the nervous system and help us visit states of deep calm, focus, tension release and euphoria. This session will be both accessible and fun, leaving you with boundless energy to put into your day.

While the session is great for beginners, it is not recommend for people who have high blood pressure, history of aneurisms or epilepsy, or are pregnant.

DISCOVERING YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE MASTERCLASS with WALTER BELLIN

As we raise our level of consciousness/awareness through meditation and inner growth work, eventually the inevitable and existential questions arise: Why am I here? What’s it all for? What is my life purpose?

Most people feel instinctively that their life has an overarching purpose, but what eludes them is being able to define that purpose in words. Knowing our purpose in a clear and verbally defined way empowers us to organise our life and activities in a way that contributes to that purpose. Empowering our life and activities in this way ensures the experience of a meaningful existence.

In this session, Walter will take you through a step-by-step process that enables you to become conceptually and verbally clear about your purpose, and then will provide an effective methodology for bringing your life increasingly in alignment with that purpose – empowering you to create an increasingly more meaningful life!

PSYCHEDELIC STORIES FROM THE 60’S with ROBERT MEREDITH and WALTER BELLIN

The sixties were filled with Sex, Drugs and Rock ’n’ Roll! Join our “wise elders” Walter Bellin and Robert Meredith and as they share and reflect on their wild experiences during this decade. From tripping on LSD with hippy friends to working for The Beatles to civil rights demonstrations with Martin Luther King Jnr and becoming a meditation teacher with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, here’s your chance to ask all the questions you wished you could about living through the psychedelic sixties.

BEDTIME NIDRA MEDITATION with SHANE BRENNAN

Nidra meditation produces many of the same states of relaxation and brain waves that high quality sleep does. The specific stages of Nidra will relax the conscious mind, develop your awareness of your body and then release subconscious tensions. It deals with both your current and past tensions, restores your energy and is a gateway to higher quality sleep.

KEVIN JANKS

Kevin is the Co-Founder and Chief Meditation Officer at Centred Meditation. He reluctantly came to meditation out of desperation to rid himself of the detrimental effects of stress. Years down the track of cumulative benefits, he now dedicates his life to making this untapped resource more accessible to everyone.

Kevin has led and taught thousands of people to meditate through his world-first drop-in meditation studio, Corporate Program Hub and Inner Growth Retreats. He has a unique way of distilling complex intellectual topics into simple practical tools for his students. Kevin’s purpose is to raise the bar of love and affinity and decrease the level of suffering in the world.

NIKKI JANKS

NIKKI JANKS

Nikki is the Co-Founder of Centred Meditation. It was while studying Psychology at University when she experienced first hand the visceral effects of stress on her mind and body: constant anxiety, muscle spasms, digestive issues and the list goes on. She stumbled upon Effortless Meditation online and thought it sounded too good to be true! After learning the technique in 2010 she was pleasantly shocked by its immediate effects on all aspects of her life.

Nikki has since spent time in India learning from different meditation masters and Gurus, directed a non-profit organisation, trained as an Ayurvedic Practitioner, and travelled around the world organising, undertaking, and facilitating personal development and leadership programmes.

Nikki is one of the lead instructors of our Teacher Training Courses, Retreats, and Meditation Programs. Her life’s purpose is to empower people to be inspired by their own true greatness and freed up to share it with the world.

WALTER BELLIN

WALTER BELLIN

Walter pioneered the development and teaching of a wide range of methods designed to maximise the professional and personal potential of individuals, teams and organisations. He is an international consultant who regularly consults to the top senior management teams of Australian public and private sector organisations in the areas of corporate development, leading organisational change (specialising in organisational cultural change), leadership development, teambuilding, communication skills and strategic business planning.

Walter began meditating in 1970 and has continued ever since. Effortless Meditation training has always been part of his leadership and personal development programmes. His life’s purpose is to to awaken and expand our human experience of peace, joy, love, and compassion, and our desire and capacity to accept and serve others.

ROBERT MEREDITH

ROBERT MEREDITH

For over 15 years Robert has worked with senior teams and management all over the world assisting them create the leadership and corporate cultures that support them to achieve their vision and goals. He was a foundation member of Mckinsey’s Mindsets and Capabilities initiative and has extensive experience in C Suite and Senior Team Facilitation and Coaching. He has a variety of qualifications in a various leadership and stress management courses, as well as years of experience running corporate personal development companies. Outside of work, his love of The Himalayas led him to create “Conscious Trekking”, a travel company taking like-minded people to discover ‘spirit of place’ in the mountains.

DANYAH PRESTON

Danyah’s journey with meditation began over 15 years ago and has played an integral role in helping her see into the nature and workings of her own mind, thereby loosening the grip of anxiety and a strong inner critic.

Passionate about making meditation mainstream, she is deeply committed to helping others not only reduce their stress, but access the wellspring within of inner joy and peace. Danyah is an accredited senior teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia, holds a Diploma in Mindfulness and Compassion Teaching and is a graduate Mindfulness MBSR Level 1 Teacher. She continues with interest to expand her understanding of the mind, and is inspired by both traditional and contemporary authorities in this domain.

KARI HAMELE

KARI HAMELE

A self proclaimed extroverted introvert, Kari’s love of people and creating connections come natural, but it is her passion for knowledge and creating a healthier way of living & being that give her purpose.

Kari has consistently invested time and energy into meditation knowledge and draws her understanding from ancient wisdom, modern masters and direct experience. She teaches a modern technique in a way that is achievable and effective for all people to learn, and shares a simple understanding of how to effortlessly create the conditions for the body & mind to un-stress and restore health naturally.

SHANE BRENNAN

SHANE BRENNAN

When Shane was diagnosed with a painful autoimmune disease at 18, this change took him on a journey of understanding the body and mind at a whole new level. At the beginning it was yoga that mostly gave him great relief, however when it was too painful, meditation was his backup. Slowly meditation became a bigger and bigger part of his practice and soon produced profound benefits – even removing the need for medication! Truly fascinated by the potential of the mind and the impact of meditation on the nervous and immune systems, Shane has continued to explore and practice a wide range of meditation techniques and make it a significant part of his life.

MARLOU KAMPHUIS

MARLOU KAMPHUIS

Marlou recently moved from Amsterdam to Sydney to follow her passion and dreams. She loves meditation as it creates so many new opportunities in her life. She finds it helps her in calming and clearing her mind to solve anything that crosses her path in an authentic way. Marlou received her teaching certificate in Guided Effortless Meditation through Centred Meditation in September 2020. Facilitating guided meditations brings her a lot of joy and happiness.

AMANDA BAINBRIDGE

After a long career working with corporate executives, Amanda learned that there’s one thing that can make or break high functioning professionals: how they manage their stress. Having tried many different styles of meditation previously, when Amanda came across Effortless Meditation she preferred it for its grace and simplicity. In her efforts to make the world a calmer and more compassionate place for everyone, Amanda completed her Teaching Certificate in Guided Effortless Meditation through Centred Meditation in October, 2020. She is now facilitating meditation in her workplace and from home.

Paul started meditating several years ago to help manage stress at work. Since then, he has experienced the positive impact of meditation in many aspects of his life, particularly running and yoga. Paul has developed a greater appreciation of the quietude of meditation that allows him to better connect with others and get more things done in a hopefully(!) kind and compassionate way. He completed his Teaching Certificate in Guided Effortless Meditation in May 2021.

Megan felt there was something stopping her progress in her career, a self-imposed glass ceiling of sorts. After observing that most successful people she’d read about have a daily practice of meditation in their routine she felt it could be the missing piece. Since learning Effortless Meditation on a Centred Meditation Retreat, she fell in love with the process of “inner growth” and has since gone on to complete her Teaching Certificate in Guided Effortless Meditation in May 2021. She absolutely loves the effortlessness of the meditation process. Her career is on the move again and her relationships are getting stronger. Her life now feels in flow.
